Q + A

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Both the ceremony and reception will take place at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh.

What is the timeline of events?

4:00pm – Ceremony seating
4:30pm – Ceremony
5:00pm –  Cocktail hour
6:00pm – Reception
10:30pm – Reception ends
10:30pm – After party (on-site)

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

We ask that you begin arriving at 4:00pm and that everyone is seated by 4:15pm. Check-in at the hotel is at 4pm and early check-in may not be available.

Is there parking available at the wedding venue?

Yes, the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel offers valet parking for $41 per night. There is also a city parking garage directly across the hotel entrance (30 feet) that offers self parking for $8 on nights and weekends. If you plan on valet parking, please allow adequate time to arrive prior to the ceremony.

How do I RSVP?

We will be mailing formal invitations this fall with instructions. RSVPs and entrée selection (along with dietary restrictions) will be handled on this web site and will be enabled once formal invitations have been mailed. Please let us know if your mailing address is changing.

Can I bring my kids?

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Can I bring a guest?

Due to the size of our guest list, we cannot accommodate extra people at our wedding. Our celebration is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation.

Is there a hotel room block available?

Yes! Please see our travel page for information. Rooms must be booked by December 5, 2023. There are a limited number of king and double queen rooms available and the room block is likely to fill up prior to the December booking deadline.

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Our wedding attire is formal. We ask that you wear formal attire such as a floor-length gown, a fancy cocktail dress or a dressy pantsuit for women and a suit and tie for men. Feel free to wear a tuxedo, just not a Canadian tuxedo.

What happens after the ceremony?

Cocktail hour begins immediately following the ceremony on the mezzanine level overlooking the ceremony location. We encourage you to use the main staircase, but there are also elevators located next to the check-in desk.

Will there be an open bar?

Yes! An open bar will be provided during cocktail hour and the reception.

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

We’ll be serving hors d’oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a sit-down dinner with a choice of entrée.

Will there be an after-party?

Yes! Late night snacks (pizza and wings) will be provided and the hotel bar, Braddock’s Rebellion, will be open.
